“My adoration journey began in high school, with God clearly in the lead. Unbeknownst to me, the quiet chapel in my town where I went to pray was a cloistered monastery with daily Eucharistic Adoration! Since that time, I have made a point to find an adoration chapel in every city that I have lived in. I am drawn to the peace found in those beautiful chapels, as it is the peace of Christ!

Indeed, all of prayer is a relationship with God, but this is the quintessential truth of Adoration: we are in the presence of the Eucharist, which is the body of Jesus Christ.

One of the greatest mysteries of all time is that Jesus not only humbled himself to come as a man who was to be slain for our sins, but also became the Bread from Heaven to stay with us on earth. In this way, we are never truly parted from him! Eucharistic miracles abound and help us intellectually comprehend the True Presence, but it is wholly another thing to know it in your heart. And this is the work of Adoration – the heart-changing grace that allows us to go deeper into communion with Him. I have received many gifts from the Lord that I didn’t even think to ask for. There is nothing to lose and so much to gain by sitting with the God who created you, knows you, and loves you.”
